It was established in 1963 by the late Robert Hutchinson.
He worked hard rebuilding the 3 acre site and turned it into a successful wholesale business supplying shops and supermarkets.
His daughter Anne McCully joined him in 1980 and she developed a line of hanging baskets and planted containers for all occasions. We have an ever growing range for Mothers day, spring, autumn/winter and Christmas.
His grandson Andrew joined the company in 2004 and his interest in retail customers has driven the business yet another direction, incorporating shrubs, trees, hedging, climbing plants, Christmas trees, holly wreaths and much more.
In 2013, his granddaughter Emma joined us to run The Secret Garden Restaurant serving locally sourced fresh wholesome food! Please view our restaurant page for more details.
In 2018 we introduced a brand new Boutique and Gift Centre stocking mens and ladies clothes, a children’s department with clothes, toys and gifts, homeware, gifts, handbags, sweet treats, greetings cards and much more!
New for 2021 we have designed a brand new planteria stocking a huge range of plants, shrubs, trees, pots, garden furniture, indoor plants and all our usual seasonal planters and hanging baskets! We hope you love it as much as we do!
